Who This Scholarship Supports

The Lift Off Toledo Aerospace Scholarship is designed for students from Toledo and surrounding communities who are serious about building a career in aviation maintenance or aerospace trades.

  • Students who live in Toledo, Ohio or nearby communities.
  • High school seniors, recent graduates, or adult learners ready to start or continue aviation maintenance training.
  • Students pursuing FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification or related aviation maintenance and aerospace skilled trades.
  • Applicants who are ready to show up, work hard, and uphold the flightline standard of discipline, professionalism, and accountability.

What the Scholarship Can Help With

Support is focused on the real costs that stand between students and the hangar floor.

  • Partial funding toward Federal Aerospace Institute (FAI) A&P training programs.
  • Help with required tools, safety equipment, and materials needed for hands-on training.
  • Assistance with FAA A&P exam fees or related certification costs when applicable.
  • Connection to working maintainers and aerospace professionals for advice, encouragement, and real-world insight.

Eligibility & Requirements

We keep requirements clear so students and families know exactly what’s expected.

  • Must live in Toledo, Ohio or surrounding communities.
  • High school diploma, GED, or on track to graduate by the time training begins.
  • Must be enrolled in, accepted to, or actively applying to an aviation maintenance, A&P, or related aerospace skilled trades program.
  • Completed online application, short personal statement, and at least two references (teacher, mentor, employer, or community leader).
  • Demonstrated interest in aviation maintenance or aerospace, and a commitment to discipline, professionalism, and accountability.

How the Scholarship Process Works

From application to award, here’s what to expect.

1. Submit Your Application

Complete the online application form with your background, goals, and program information.

2. Share Your Story

Tell us why aviation maintenance or aerospace matters to you, and how this scholarship would help.

3. Review & Selection

Our team reviews applications based on eligibility, commitment to the field, and alignment with Lift Off Toledo’s mission.

4. Interviews (If Needed)

Some applicants may be invited to a short conversation with our team or mentors to learn more about their goals.

5. Award & Next Steps

Selected scholars receive award details, mentorship connections, and guidance on how funds will be applied to their training.

Key Dates & Timelines

  • Application Opens: January 1, 2027
  • Priority Deadline: March 1, 2027
  • Final Deadline: April 15,2027
  • Notification Window: Applicants will be notified by email between May 15th and May 31st.
  • Training Start Goal: Scholarship support is intended for programs beginning between June.
